THE HUMANE SOCIETY CURRENTLY HAS A SMALL SHELTER WITH LIMITED SPACE LOCATED ON HOLMES COUNTY TOWNSHIP ROAD 15 ABOUT HALF WAY BETWEEN GLENMONT AND GREER.
OUR DOG ADOPTION FEE IS $150.  THE ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES SPAYING OR NEUTERING, HEART-WORM CHECK, DE-WORMING, VACCINATIONS, RABIES AND FLEA PREVENTIVE.  MOST DOGS ARE MICRO-CHIPPED.
OUR CAT ADOPTION FEE IS $60.00. THIS INCLUDES SPAYING OR NEUTERING, DE-WORMING, AGE-APPROPRIATE VACCINATIONS, FIV/FeLEUK TESTING AND FLEA PREVENTIVE.
We are not associated with the dog wardens adoption center, so if you filled out an adoption application we will not have it.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING WHEN APPLYING FOR ONE OF OUR DOGS/PUPPIES.

  • All potential adopters must have a secure physical fenced yard attached to the residence. No Invisible fence, no enclosed patio, no enclosed terrace, no temporary fencing, and no community shared fencing. No exceptions.

  • Meet and Greets/Adoptions are by appointment only for approved applications.

  • When the adoption is finalized, fees must be paid by credit card or cash. We are unable to accept checks.

  • Our adoption area is primarily Ohio.

  • Adoptions are not first come, first serve. All applications are reviewed with the best interest of our pets at heart.

  • Our volunteers appreciate your dedication to providing a home for a rescued pet.

  • Any pets in your household must be current on vaccinations, neutered or spayed, and dogs must be licensed.

  • You must have a solid history of vetting for any current pets and a positive referral from your veterinarian.

  • Please note our application process normally takes 5-7 days, sometimes longer depending on volunteer availability and the number of applications received. We are volunteers with full time jobs and families to care for as well as our rescued responsibilities.

  • The purpose of this application is to gather information about your home, other pets and your general lifestyle to make an initial assessment of whether the pet you wish to adopt is suitable for you and is a good fit for the pet too. Additional pet or breed-specific restrictions may be placed on some pets. For example, large dogs are usually not placed in small apartments.

  • Submission of this application does not guarantee that you will receive a dog or cat.

  • INCOMPLETE APPLICATION IS REASON FOR REFUSAL!! Veterinarian Name and Phone Number are required. No exceptions.
